Begin Again: 2023 Intention

2022 was the year I went back to my roots. My intention that year was to thrive meaningfully. That meant I chased the slow life and honored my pace. It was a season of humility and, while it was a struggle especially when everyone else around me was hustling and achieving their own goals, I honored the season my life was in. I scaled back and lived my life from a standpoint of simplicity, contentment, and humility. For so long, I had always looked ahead into the future. In 2022, I lived in the present.

Armed with humility and an awareness of ease, I think I’m ready to be brave again in the new year. While I do not intend on getting back to all the crazy hustling, I think I am ready to set new goals and try to achieve them this year.

A quiet afternoon, a cup of coffee, and a journal. Nothing can be more perfect for intention-setting.

This 2023, I’d like to be fearless and have the courage again to go after my dreams. But I also choose to be joyful in the process. This means I shall work hard to achieve my goals but will do so with ease and make space for grace in order to be joyful in the present while looking into the future.

This means there is still no need to rush. To hustle hard. Small progress is still progress. This means still forgiving myself should there be failure, frustration, or if I let a certain goal go. This means remaining grateful every day. Being more mindful, intentional, and purposeful of every action.

This year, my intention is to LIVE WITH COURAGE AND JOY.

Onward to year filled with courage, grace, rest, good books, and handmade happiness.

P.S. (and this is quite a postscript!)

To ring in the new year with inspiration and good vibes, I thought I’d share January’s screen scenes of to-do’s and motivational quote with everyone. A few months ago, I had made them exclusively for newsletter subscribers so if you like this month’s screen scenes, you want to consider signing up for my monthly dispatch of not only screen scenes but exclusive stories and other lovely little things that I don’t publish in this blog.
